Man and animal have remained interconnected since the dawn of time. In ancient cultures, their power, wisdom, and strength served humans, who, in turn, immortalized them as trusted characters in fables and myths. In my work for the 'Golden Power' exhibition, I aim to rekindle the magic and mythology surrounding animals. According to ancient beliefs, each person has their own power animal that accompanies them throughout their life journey.
My oil paintings portray animals in abstract forms, with their outlines resembling a form of a shield. Through the use of gold leaf, their auras transform into painted sculptures. These animals offer both protection and a wellspring of energy. Some of them bear additional symbols on their foreheads, engaging in a silent dialogue with the viewer and, in doing so, weaving their unique narratives.
