“Capturing the beauty and serenity of the ocean through contemporary, ocean-themed oil paintings.”
Alexandra Telgmann is a German fine art painter whose work moves between marine wildlife and contemporary figurative painting. Rooted in a refined realist tradition, her paintings explore water as a space of transformation—where light, movement, and stillness converge.
Through the use of oil and 24-carat gold leaf, she captures the shifting luminosity beneath the surface, creating works that evoke both presence and quiet depth. Her practice reflects on the fragile balance between humanity and the ocean.
Her work is exhibited internationally, including at the Mall Galleries, London (UK), the Salmagundi Art Club, New York (USA), and institutions such as the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art (USA) and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, Bournemouth (UK). She received the Best Wildlife & Animal Award from the International Guild of Realism and was awarded 7th Place in the 2025 “Animals as a Subject” competition by the Portrait Society of America.
